Black Creek Pioneer Village depicts life in1860s rural Ontario. In four historic kitchens built between 1832 and 1858, we demonstrate cooking on the open hearth and mid-century cast-iron stoves. Costumed interpreters regularly create foods popular in the mid-Victorian period. Bread is baked daily in the 1840s inn. Three additional buildings house 19th-century kitchens. Scheduled programs allow visitors to explore Victorian foodways in more detail. Periodic special themes provide opportunities for more focused programming.
