HISTORIC KITCHENS IN CANADIAN MUSEUMSHutchison House Museum Hutchison House is a restored stone house that was built in 1836. Our "keeping room" represents the 1840s time period. The cooking hearth is one of the most significant features of the room. The museum offers a variety of educational programs for children and adults. Most of the programs incorporate some aspect of hearth cooking, including one that consists of an entire meal being prepared and cooked on the fire. Throughout the year the museum hosts many special events and cooking demonstrations are often part of the program.
